Jackson 5 reunion...a no go?

Michael Jackson doesn't want the other five back. The pop singer denied word of a Jackson 5 reunion spread by brother Jermaine in Australia.

“My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we’ve certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them," Jackson said in a statement Thursday.

"I am now in the studio developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon.”

Jackson's statement contradicts comments his brother made Wednesday to Australian Associated Press.

"It is going to be more like a family affair. Janet's going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5 ... Michael, Randy and the whole family ... we're in the studio, we're planning on being out there next year," Jermaine Jackson said at the launch of a television channel in Australia.

Jermaine made claims in 2003 and 2007 about the group reuniting, neither of which came to fruition.

Brothers Michael, Marlon, Tito, Jackie and Jermaine are the original members of the group, which rose to fame in the 1960s with songs like ABC and I Want You Back.

Randy Jackson joined after Jermaine's departure in 1976. When Michael left the group in 1984 to pursue his more successful solo career, Jermaine took the chance to rejoin.

The last time all six members performed on stage was in 2001 at a celebration of Michael's 30th anniversary as a solo artist.

When Broadcast Music Incorporated awarded the brothers a lifetime achievement award in September, the most famous Jackson was absent from the ceremony in Los Angeles.

When asked where his brother was, Marlon told the Associated Press, "I don't know. I think he's in Egypt riding a camel or something."
