Japan - and Reflections

We ALL know about what has happened in Japan over the last...26 hours or so. And, if you don't...you've really been in a shell! It could take weeks to understand the disaster - but, we know the situation as it stands right now, and that it's not looking pretty. Hell, it hasn't looked pretty since the first pictures started to emerge.

Twitter was the first to break the news. And, I do believe i was the one in Medicine Hat to hand the news to locals here in the city. But, the support worldwide has been ENORMOUS!!!

Sure, there have been people who, when the news first broke - started with the jokes. And, to those people i say this: YOU are the PROBLEM with Humanity! Now, i'm NOT against jokes and comedy - because, situations like this do need humour. To at least take the minds off it. HOWEVER - there is a time and a place to do it, and it's NOT when it first happens! Wait a few fucking days, will ya?

I have extended family just about everywhere - except Japan where this terrible shit has happened. I went through it a few weeks ago when New Zealand got hit with something similar. And, then, when Japan got hit yesterday - people on the Pacific coasts had to worry. That's where I have Family. From B.C. to Oregon...and, i had to worry about warning them, and praying that i didn't wake up to something only my worst nightmares could predict.

Thankfully, i didn't. And, it made my day when i woke up to touch base with everyone affected. My "Sister", my "2nd mom"...all the way to the Celeb's on Twitter in Hawaii - Dog, Beth and the rest of their family.

My prayers were with them lastnight. My prayers are still with the people affected in Japan. My prayers are still with EVERYONE with family members anywhere right now - be it here, or around the world - with family or friends in Japan who still haven't heard anything.

Although, i can't begin to imagine what everyone's going through right now...but, believe me when i say that when i first started seeing pictures, it was like i was there. I literally broke down crying, and knowing that now, we're beginning to understand the force of mother nature and how un-fucking-predictable she is, and that we can do nothing but try and warn, support and help - when and where we can.

Natural disasters put the stupid things we complain about in perspective; we never know how/when we can be affected. Be thankful and prayerful. (as in the words of @WilsonTech1)

This being said. Toxic TuneZ will NOT be in the news for the next couple of days. NOTHING is more important right now than helping out, when we can - by any means necessary.

For Shaw, they have gone beyond what i'd expect from a company. Not only have they given access to TV Japan to their customers, but, they have given free long distance to all their customers to reach Japan. I'm hoping that Telus, Bell...any Telco or Service Provider is doing the same thing.

CNN has also provided streaming online. All you have to do is go to their website by clicking on that link, and then click on the "Live: Japan" stream.

For Canadians: http://www.international.gc.ca/humanitarian-humanitaire/japan_earthquake_japon_seisme.aspx?lang=eng

For Americans And Elsewhere: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/03/11/tsunami-aid-and-relief-how-you-can-help/?hpt=T1

Those 2 links offer ways that you can Help. Also, on the CNN Page (For Americans....) There's also a link to Google Person Finder to find friends and family members - and, to also post information about people. So - if you are in the crowd of people who are looking for any kind of lifeline - check it out. If you don't want to go to the CNN site to get to the Google Person Finder...
